NRA Basic Firearms Instructor Training Course

This Training is designed to teach experienced shooters the knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary to conduct NRA basic firearms courses using NRA methods and materials.  Each course includes a six hour Basic Instructor Training (Phase I) plus the discipline specific phase which ranges from five to fourteen hours.  Each instructor candidate is required to teach several topics using the NRA methods and materials and pass a written exam.  Upon successful completion of the course an application is submitted to the NRA.  The NRA then reviews the application and issues certification to those who meet the requirements.  All materials are supplied and are included in the price of the class.

 
 NRA Basic Pistol Instructor Course
This course is eleven hours in length in addition to the six hours (Phase I).  Instructor candidates are required to pre-qualify by completing a written test, demonstrating knowledge of safe handling and unloading procedures of semi-auto handguns, and demonstrate basic pistol shooting positions and fundamentals in a live fire exercise.  The cost of the course is $175.00. 
 
NRA Personal Protection Instructor Course
The requirement to become a NRA Personal Protection Instructor is that you first must be certified NRA Basic Pistol Instructor.  This course is a stand alone course is eight hours in length.  Instructor candidates are required to pre-qualify by completing a written exam, demonstrating safe handling and unloading procedures, and basic pistol shooting fundamentals in a live fire exercise.  The cost of the course is $165.00
 
NRA Basic Rifle Instructor Course
Instructor candidates must pre-qualify by completing a written exam, demonstrating safe handling and unloading procedures, and basic rifle positions and fundamentals in a live fire exercise.  The course is fourteen hours in length in addition to the six hours (Phase I).  The cost of the course is $175.00.  The cost may be partially waived for camp counselors working with youth organizations.
