Why Choose Foothills Firearms Training Center? During the almost fourteen years that I have been teaching the South Carolina Concealed Weapons Permit classes I have heard all the sad stories of people whose training did not meet their expectations. One lady told me she could not get a CWP because she did not shoot enough 10's on the range qualification. One man asked me why my classes took eight hours when the class he took only lasted three hours. I could go on and on but there is no need. Foothills Firearms Training Center was started in 1994, two years prior to South Carolina's CWP law being passed. I taught a variety of NRA and self-defense classes as well as the NRA Firearms Instructor Course. I taught more than 200 students who wanted to get NRA Certified so they could become SLED certified in order to teach CWP classes. I have a Master's Degree in History and Education and 25 years experience in public education. I am also certified as a Master Instructor from the U. S. Army and was a member of the U. S. Army Reserve Marksmanship Mobile Training Team. I have 45+ years of civilian and military firearms training experience and have trained thousands of students. No one, absolutely no one, in firearms training in South Carolina has more experience than I do. I train my students to meet the standards of knowledge and skills set by SLED. No one fails my class as long as they are willing to continue their training until they succeed. That is my commitment to my students. Former students can update their training as often as they wish at no additional charge.
